Robert Bonfils was one of the most prominent smut illustrators of his time and publisher’s frequently told other illustrators to copy his style.
Note that these are books without any interior illustrations, but I wanted to highlight the cover artwork for queer stories of the past.
I love erotic art but most of it these days seems to be digital, and it lacks something compared to traditional art styles. Digital just can’t compare to the physical and visceral nature of traditional art, especially when it comes to portraying something like sexuality. Anyways, that’s just my opinion!
