this post spoils the arc for around ch. 50-65-ish(?) of orta so if you haven’t read it feel free to click off! i’m just curious to hear from people who have strong feelings about this arc
to recap, in the falling out at the climax of songrik arc, jinhyeong says something hurtful to songrik which caused him to make a face so full of hurt that jinhyeong couldn’t look anyone in the face for months after. songrik came to see him after a while and they had their final conversation in which they were able to have closure and part ways amicably.
let’s say in an alternate timeline, circumstances cause jinhyeong to move away and vanish from songrik’s life after the face incident. him and songrik aren’t able to have that conversation and they move on with their lives, that loose unresolved end endlessly haunting jinhyeong to where it follows him even in his dreams. because he never apologised or made up for it, he lives in perpetual guilt as he ignores the calls and texts out of shame and extreme self hatred and loathing because it’d better to never show his face to him again, to become a distant memory than to continue this cycle of hurting him further by resolving things and returning to his side. it’s also the innate irrational and paralysing fear that he’d see that face again, the fear of the impending wrath he’d face if he were to see him again
my question is, what would you do if you were jinhyeong? what would your advice be and what would you want him to do for them to both be happy in the end? appreciate any comments!
